Welcome to The Stargazers of Columbia,Tennessee!I made this site because I was amazed at how many inaccurate astronomy sites are out there on the web. I made this site so amateur and professional astronomers could go here and get reliable information and links that give them what they need to know and want to know about astronomy everytime they come here. I check every link I put on this site closely to make sure they have accurate and reliable information. I update this site with new information and sites usually once a month or as often as I can. Recently, light pollution has hit us and the sky magnitude went down very fast. We moved to the country and now the "country" is turning into a small city. They are building houses, town houses, apartments, etc., left and right, and their lighting is terrible! Most of their lights are pointing at the sky and the magnitude is now 4.0 to 5.0, Our Bortle Scale is 3.0-4.5. If we don't stop light pollution there will be no more dark skies! Please help bring back DARK night skies! Support the www.darksky.org community! One person CAN make a difference!
